Our Kantha Market Bags are upcycled from Vintage Indian Kantha Quilts.
KANTHA (meaning patched cloth) is the tradition of producing unique blankets with a straight running stitch embroidery (all by hand!!) out of discarded, old or unused items. 
Each Kantha blanket makes around 4 bags however no two bags will be completely alike. They will have slightly different print placements and unique quirks. Please note the print you choose is one of these 4 and may be slightly different in print placement.

As these have continuous cotton stitch throughout the fabric, they are strong and durable.
Please note: these are made from vintage Kantha blankets so there may be slight imperfections such as small mend patches or marks, but this only adds to the uniqueness of each piece. We have chosen A grade Kantha quilts but there may still be slight imperfections which is understandable for over 100 year old antique quilts! What journey has this Kantha been on? Who has used and loved and mended before me? I love the idea of this..... but if you are expecting a new bag then these aren't for you as they do have that eclectic vintage feel.
